Jennifer will share lessons from developing a regional network of municipal and satellite food waste drop-off locations across western Connecticut.


Her contribution will cover the full operating model: expanding access beyond transfer stations, managing users and contamination, coordinating collection, and improving program economics through regional servicing and local processing.

Natalie will present the program delivered by Rust Belt Riders in partnership with the City of Shaker Heights.


The free citywide service gives registered residents coded access to food scrap collection at six community locations across the city’s five public elementary schools and main library. The program launched on Earth Day 2025 and had attracted more than 1,000 participating households.
