Dumbo installs new waste & recycling unit with Manhattan Bridge backdrop

Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood is stepping up its sustainability game with the installation of a sleek new metroSTOR waste and recycling unit – set against the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Manhattan Bridge. Unveiled by Kalvis Mikelšteins, Alexandria Sica, and the Dumbo Improvement District team, the stylish new bin is as photogenic as it is functional. In one of the city’s most Instagrammed spots, it’s a welcome move toward keeping Dumbo’s cobblestone streets clean and beautiful.

More than just a pretty face, the unit is built to last – with a tough steel frame, smart modular design for multiple waste streams, and a coating tough enough to survive NYC winters, the new metroSTOR unit offers a practical and efficient solution to keep trash and recycling off the streets. Its secure enclosure helps cut down on litter and discourages can-diving.
