Fayetteville Launches First Keypad-Access Food Waste Bins in Arkansas

The City of Fayetteville is stepping up its organics recycling game with keypad-activated food waste bins—now available 24/7 at eight community locations including the Public Library and Veterans Memorial Park. These smart bins make composting easier, cleaner, and more accessible for everyone, especially apartment dwellers and shared households.

Built for durability and hygiene, the metroSTOR organics carts help keep contamination low and community engagement high. All collected food waste is turned into nutrient-rich compost, supporting the city’s goal to divert 40% of waste from landfill.
